LONGWOOD is able to formulate, engineer, and process virtually any type of elastomer material or composite. Our chemists choose rubber formulations from our extensive library, or custom-design new ones to suit the application. We handle an array of fabrics, including woven goods, knits, and tire cord; and have extensive experience in marrying fabrics, metals, and plastics to rubber. Our specially formulated adhesive systems build strong bonds that withstand flexing and chemical attack. When applications demand it, we incorporate a plastic film layer (such as PTFE) into some of our molded and sheet goods to improve chemical resistance and reduce permeability.
