Compression & Transfer Molding
Compression molding processes used by LONGWOOD range from simple to highly integrated transfer shuttle systems. One of the benefits of compression molding is that the tooling costs tend to be lower than competing technology. Compression is also more versatile for larger parts, providing easy access for inserts and fabric reinforcement. Scrap can also be minimized in this process by using pre-formed rubber slugs.
